We went to Sante Fe, NM to Bandelier National Park. It was one of the best hike we've taken and I got to take some cool photos. I highly recommend going there - it was enlightening.

Get Real. Get Hired.

Our marketing team came up with the quick phrase "Get Real. Get Hired." to better explain OSUIT's college philosophy. Since OSUIT is a technical college, the OSU Marketing Team in Stillwater let us branch off of the traditional OSU "Create, Educate, Innovate."
That message really didn't target to our students seeking a technical degree. We need something quick and to the point. I created this logo to look hands-on, casual, colorful and modern to better fit our student demographic.

Hutch Knives

Yes, Hutch Knives is my husband's blog and hobby. So of course I helped out by putting my fingerprint on the look and feel of his brand. I have made some promo material and still have some more to do, once he starts selling his knives more. He hand makes all his blades and handles/sheaths - pretty impressive, especially when you see how he built a homemade knife oven.

Here's a little booklet I made, while in school, that captures ridiculous quotes of infamous people. The booklet spreads look serious, like a typical coffee table book, but the quotes make the book ironic. Mariah Carey quotes "When I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry. I mean, I'd love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff." Al Gore quotes "I invented the internet."

Annual Report

This annual report is for Teva Pharmaceuticals. Though it looks professional, I made this while I was in school, for a class project. I pushed the boundaries of a typical boring annual report and made the typography look smart, clean and scientific. Even the graph's are pretty. I used photographs of happy, natural looking people to give the idea that the products or medicine is impacting lives. The cover is a green abstract with DNA ring-like scribbles, created to look like cellular growth and genetic engineering.

Dog Photography

We adopted Roma from Animal Aid last fall. She's a great dog that we absolutely adore. I just got the DNA test results back on her. She's a Rottweiler - German Shepherd, but she's small - and has Corgie and Doxen in her mix. Hilarious.

Shop Conflict Free

Diamonds are timeless, beautiful and are symbols of love, plus, the world's most precious and sought after gems. But in Africa, during the 1990s, these beautiful stones became blood diamonds, named, not for their color but, for their cost in human conflict and suffering. This project was my senior capstone. I decided to choose a topic that I felt was in need of recognition - conflict diamonds. If you haven't seen Blood Diamond with Leonardo DiCaprio it basically captures the inhuman suffering of people in Sierra Leone that were slaves to war diamonds (diamonds that are sold to finance an insurgency or warlord activity). Almost half a million of people died and thousands of people were victims of amputations due to conflict diamonds.

I decided to make a ad campaign revealing the horror and impact of conflict diamonds. I thought I would create a website where people could be educated on the issue and also find conflict free diamonds through a honest market.
The ads or posters would appear anywhere that might cause some attention - shopping malls, subways and etc. I thought that some magazine ads in bridal magazines might better educate women of engagement ages 18-35 on the issue.
Educating women on the topic might be a better cause, "Your marriage shouldn't have any conflict, neither should your diamond", since women might be more prone to making the men in their life aware of the issue. On the execution side, I rented mannequins and photographed them. I did make a simple flash website showcasing information on the subject and some honest conflict free diamond websites.

Oliver Stone DVD Packaging

Here is another piece, I made while a student at OU. I love this still, since I welded this dvd cover. Yes, I'm pretty proud of that! I didn't realize until after I was done, that I had welded aluminum (which is really bad for your health!) I'm still here and I worry every time I show it off that someone might get tetnis if they handle it wrong. I made this dvd series for a Oliver Stone enthusiast. The dvd cover's and booklet capture the dry, raw style of his movies.

This was a quick poster I made for the nerdiest lan party club at OSUIT. It was a last minute project and I feel like I did a pretty good job for such short notice. Yes, I could have done some things differently, now, that I have time to look back on it, but, I guess you have to honor the "quick freely made chaos".

Oklahoma Centennial Poster

Yes, it's been awhile since the centennial, but I can't help but put this poster up for show. I did make this when I was a senior at OU. Our teacher, Karen Thumann, made us research a particular aspect of Oklahoma that was unique and make a "type as image" poster. I did my research on Oklahoma weather - of course! This poster was meant for students in classrooms - for kids 8 and up to get quick facts on tornadoes.

Here is one of the first brochure's I made using the "Get Real. Get Hired" logo, I created. Again, the theme of "fast-paced, fun, tactile and hand's on" was my drive in getting this design accomplised. Also, hats, t-shirts, stickers and etc. were made with the "Get Real. Get Hired" logo. Somehow, I only ended up with a hat! Which I begged for. The t-shirt is still unattainable. You'd think out of thousands made...oh well, I give up!

2008 Littlefield Christmas Advent Calendar

When I was at Littlefield, I got to partake in they're annual Christmas "crazy" that they do every year. In 2008, they decided to make an interactive Christmas Advent Calendar that would email all clients daily a fun teaser until the 25th, the big day that their new website launched. I got to make some of the drop down graphics. If you get to see this interact - it's fun to play with!

Brooke Allen Photography Identity

Brooke Allen and I traded out photography for graphics last year. She wanted a fresh look for her business cards and identity image and wanted something completely different than what she had. So, I came up with a old fashioned black frame graphic logo. My reason's for the design execution is that photo's are a timeless memento, kind of like an old fashioned Silhouette portraiture - a keepsake. I thought the frame would be iconic to Brooke's wedding photography and be a bit more memorable for people to recognize.

Dolce Hair Boutique's New Website

Dolce Hair Botique in Tulsa, OK was needing a fresh approach to marketing their salon. They wanted to be able to publish (or me to publish) an update each week on a special they were having or new products and events. So, I created a simple blogger-style website that's clean and simple - while fitting their needs. Each week, I upload a new post and artwork for them.
